I have experience in all many aspects of business organization, operations, and management. My services can include anything as small as researching a topic, answering questions, or designing a form or spreadsheet. However, I can also help provide full support for your day-to-day operations and full scale projects.

  • Accounting – Establishing and maintaining accounting systems. Day to day accounting transactions, reconciliation of accounts, financial statements, and specialized reporting. Have provided accounting services using Quickbooks and Peachtree software programs.

  • Budgeting – Develop new or annual budgets based on past performance, projected costs, and planned events for companies and projects.

  • Business Management & Operations – Familiar with most aspects of operating a University Unit or company including finances, facilities, risk management, federal and state reporting, fixed assets, contracts, maintenance, personnel, computing, telecommunications, etc.

  • Business Programming – Develop systems needed to handle basic or specialized tasks using spreadsheets, databases, etc.

  • Conflict of Interest Management – Development and oversight of COI management plans in both university and corporate settings..

  • Contract Administration – Prepare, review, and maintain research and service contracts, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, purchase agreements, and other such documents to or from outside sources.

  • Desktop Publishing – Design of brochures, business cards, forms, and graphics.

  • Facilities Management – Oversight of construction, remodeling, relocation, utility changes or upgrades, obtaining bids, and hiring and coordination of contractors.

  • Grants & Contracts Administration – Pre-award and post-award administration of sponsored proposals and awards from federal, state, or private sponsors. Identify funding sources and sponsors, prepare and/or review proposal content and budget, track proposal submission, oversee appropriate usage of funds, review and interpret terms and conditions, assist with reporting and closeout requirements.

  • Human Resource Management – Handling interviews, hiring, training, appointments, performance evaluations, and termination of employment.

  • Information Research – Internet and offline information searches related to products, services, companies, business processes, or individuals.

  • Meetings – Planning, preparation and participation in meetings for various groups. Design and preparation of meeting materals.

  • Polices & Procedures - Review business processes and develop approprate policies and procedure manuals to provide consitency with corporate and legal requirements and continuity with organizational events.

  • Proposal Preparation – Preparation of proposals for community development, purchasing, research, services, or other types of projects.

  • Purchasing – Processing requests, vendor selection, negotiations, purchasing, expediting, receiving, and closeout of orders.

  • Research for information involving internet, library, or publc records searches.
  • Risk Management – Work with agents to identify proper coverage, submission of claims, and audits.

  • Small Business Setup - I have helped establish new businesses in the State of Illinois and can assist with filing the proper paperwork and business applications to the appropriate entities.
